Tieguanyin is a classic oolong known for combining aromatic tea notes with a deeper roasted character. This finely ground tea powder has a rich, rounded body with roasted and nutty notes followed by a lingering oolong aroma.
Its fuller flavour makes Tieguanyin particularly good with milk. Instead of disappearing underneath dairy or oat milk, the distinctive roasted tea character remains present, creating a sophisticated alternative to both matcha and hojicha lattes.

How to prepare a Tieguanyin latte
- Sift 2–4g tea powder into a cup.
- Add 40–60ml water at approximately 80°C.
- Whisk until completely combined.
- Add 150–200ml hot or iced milk.
- Add sweetness if desired.
For a stronger roasted latte, we recommend 3–4g per serving.
Choose Tieguanyin if: You want a rich and aromatic oolong with more depth and roast than lighter floral oolongs.
